2023 IGSS RACE MIXTAPE

How can we work towards creating a more just and equitable society for all people, regardless of race?

After reading “Between The World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates, along with essays spanning a range of ideological perspectives, articles, and examining historical events, students crafted a mixtape, a layered audio file accompanied by liner notes and an album cover, by making a specific claim about achieving racial justice in the United States. The mixtape was designed to capture their thinking and feelings about race and racism in the United States today.
